Frequently Asked Questions

What is a vape?

A vape (or e-cigarette) is an electronic device designed as analternative to smoking tobacco products. Vapes replicate the same experience of smoking, from the throat hit to the vapour production. Vapes are available in various sized and ranges of power, some more suitable for beginners and other which are favoured by experienced vapers, there are vapes out there to suit all budgets and preferences.

Is vaping safer than smoking?

Yes, vaping is safer than smoking. Cigarette smoke contains 4000+ harmful chemicals and carcinogenic compounds. This includes nicotine, carbom monoxide, tar, formaldehyde, hydrogen cyanide, arsenic, ammonia and many more. E-cigarettes are non-combustible, the e-liquid is heated to produce a vapour that is considered to cause no harm to the public, as well as a more enjoyable experience for the user.

What is a pod kit?

Pod kits or pod vape kits are compact vaping devices that use replaceable pods. When vapes were first introduced, they would have a tank with a replaceable heating element (coil), however many vapers found the coil-changing process inconvenient and somewhat messy. This is where pods came in, you just need to refill the pod via a small hole, then once it's finished, you just replace for a new pod, no coil hassle.

When should I replace my pod or coil?

There's no strict timeframe for how long a coil lasts, shops and suppliers generally advise anywhere between 1-2 weeks per pod/coil, but the best way to know when you need to change is if your e-liquid doesn't taste as prominent as it once did, or you get a slight burning taste, this usually indicates the heating element is nearing the end of its use. Many users also experience slight leaking from their pod/tank if the coil is past its lifespan.

What is MTL and DTL vaping?

Mouth-to-lung (MTL) and Direct-to-lung (DTL) are terms used in the vape industry to explain the type of vaping experience a pod or tank will offer. MTL is the same experience as smoking a cigarette where you inhale into the mouth, then into the lungs, while DTL where you inhale directly into the lungs, it's what creates those large, thick plumes of smoke.

What is e-liquid?

E-liquid, e-juice or also known as vape juice, is the liquid that you add to your tank or pod which gets heated to create vapour. E-liquids contain 4 ingreditnets: propylene glycol (PG), vegetable glycerine (VG), nicotine and flavouring. These additives are common in the food industry to preserve or sweeten food (vegetable glycerine is common in cakes and boiled sweets).
